The Department of Education was set up for the purpose of promoting natural history collection and research. We take the promotion of "cultural diversity" and "biodiversity" as our mission and our goal is to exert the museum's goal of knowledge dissemination to the fullest through innovation and hosting exhibitions and educational events. The operations of this department range from exhibition planning, educational programs, publications, information networks, digital learning and consulting services.
Regarding exhibitions, there are special, regular, outdoor and international exhibitions. Tours of exhibitions are also offered. In relation to exhibition planning, the museum uses multi-faceted, interactive and lively scenario planning to present exhibitions by fully integrating space, lighting effects, audiovisual facilities, photo images, specimens, multi-media and the "touch & feel" section. With our carefully planned programs, we expect to arouse the audience's interest and inspire them to think.
In order to enrich educational promotion, the department with its multi-faceted service ideals has designed different types of activities ranging from indoor to outdoor, some for the home and some for the museum. We hope that the general public may get to know Taiwan's natural history and come to treasure this land through relaxed and cheerful learning.
