Museum publications include journals, books, and various handbooks and brochures associated with Museum activities. Some of these publications are provided gratis to educational establishments domestically and overseas and to academic institutions. They are also available at the Museum Shop.

This popular science journal has been issued by the Museum since 1982. It reaches a readership ranging from students to general readers. Books
NTM researchers’ reports concerning anthropology, earth science, zoology, and biology are collected and published in books, as are programs of special exhibitions that have become quite popular and are well-regarded society-wide. A series has also been published concerning restoration. Another work has been published introducing the historic buildings of the Taipei Capital Culture Zone.

The Museum publishes various leaflets, activity bulletins, guidebooks, posters and other promotional materials in support of exhibitions and educational activities.

Publication Awards
For many years, the NTM has published high-quality books, the better to connect with a wider audience. These efforts have been honored with a plethora of awards. Among these has been the Taipei City Recommended Books—Knowledge Category: Codes of Life: Saving Biodiversity of Earth, The Story of Shells, A Special Edition of Insect Studies and Insect Arts, Dancing with Sharks: A Handbook on Shark Conservation, Come to Our Future: Climate Change. Among the winners of the National Publication Award in the Government Publications category: Formosa: Maritime Taiwan and Spain in the Age of Discovery, 400 Years of Maps of Taiwan, Our Home: Taiwanese Lifestyles over the Past Century, and The Paiwan Kingdom under the Sun. Among the winners of the Outstanding Government Publications Award have been the The Story of Collection in a Century: National Taiwan Museum Centennial Edition (Chinese & English version), Taiwan Museum Complex Vol. 2: Taiwan’s Camphor, City, Museum, Enchantment: Good Time Public Art Festival, and Taiwan Museum. Lastly, the Golden Butterfly Award has been awarded to The Story of Collection in a Century: National Taiwan Museum Centennial Edition and Come to Our Future: Climate Change.
